Scrawl on the Wall 007Sometimes illusions seem a lot clearer and more solid than reality, but i think that's just because we want them to be that way. Deep down, I think I'd prefer all the chaos, and strangeness and uncertainty. But everywhere I look is order, and structure, straight lines, and symmetry. I think everything in the universe can be bisected and I hope that I'm wrong. I'm not scared of regular, orderly, fashionable things, but I would like to see a few more things get broken down. The new gods have their pedestals, and the old gods sleep forever in museums.
They are trapped And I just feel like them In white walled surroundings with explanatory texts - plain, referenced, informed, educated opinions. No passion, no feelings, just data, just solid, reliable, reproducible information. No hope of some strange, primal, worshipper breaking into the exhibit and killing a victim for Chacmool just one last time, for the sake of the good old days. Dionysus has finally sobered up. And we are all left as broken as the ruins, and as forgotten as the chipped inscriptions worn with age. |
