Vague Insanty 035

Odds are somewhere in the forest tonight there's a cactus named Jimmy. Jimmy is a mean cactus. Immoral. Evil. Spiny. And he's waiting for me to stumble into him during my drunken nature hike for premium alcoholics.

I love nature, but not the animals, or the plants, or the quiet solitude... I just like the lack of people trying to convince me to do productive stuff.

People think that bumming around in a pastoral setting actually is the same as achieving things. And I imagine that exercise is accomplished, but I think I'd rather just watch TV, eat bacon, and get all the questions to Jeopardy wrong -- it's my lifestyle.

I'd really hate to think that achievement is the true aim or goal of human civilization. I think we put on our robes, our shoes, our sunglasses, ties, and smiles and all give lip service to the ideal of human achievement, but deep down, I have to think we're all doing this for some grander and weirder purpose -- like eating cookies, and swimming on the beach, and having sex with someone in a string bikini.

It's only a hope.
