Vague Insanty 053I wish I was a small spacecraft hurling through interstellar space, somewhere out there beyond the nebulae and the spiral galaxies, out there in stardust and vacuum. There's just no where else to run, gotta stay on this gravity well called earth, and all the countries have these little booklets of paper that they need you to have, but I want to collect a few of them, all different colors and designs and holograms and shiny crap. I think the Earth would be a hell of a lot quieter and nicer if it was run by shambling, slow moving tortoises. Sure it would be weird to be surrounded by giant turtle people all day, but I don't notice these primate people very much, not most of them, so I could probably get used to it. I would just go to a white sand beach, drinking white wine, watching the waves flow in and out, watching the crabs scuttle along the shore, and I would eat copious amounts of French fries and chicken curry. Then, in the evening, I would stumble blindly through the streets, asking the turtle people directions to the space port, I'd jump into a star-liner and be off in the big black in time for coffee and biscuits. |
